Doors to Useful Learning... expanding capacities to think, care and connect.

Welcome to Doors to Useful Learning, an educational service that specializes in helping people learn to

  • respond creatively to conflict
  • develop empathy and perspective taking skills
  • engage in respectful teamwork
  • address injustice and bias
  • explore history as a useful tool, and,
  • include others in ways that affirm commonalities and diversity.

My name is Jo Montie, and as founder of Doors To Useful Learning I work in partnership with you (my clients and learning partners) to expand these capacities, with the bottom line defined as learning that is useful and relevant to YOUR situation…not someone else’s!

I offer services as a guest speaker, classroom partner, workshop presenter, writer, and group facilitator on a range of topics, and enjoy working with all ages. Please click on the Services and Topics tab to see examples of my work.

Today there are both great needs in our world, and a tremendous amount of capacity and potential. Ultimately, all of my work at Doors to Useful Learning is about opening and expanding our human capacity to think, care, and connect as citizens of the world.
